The Continuum

The continuum is the essential structure underlying all of this work. It can be seen from many points of view, and understood in many ways. I want to gather these ways together, so as to make broadly integral and informed statements and conclusions.

For now, I want to concentrate of finding everything I can on Wikipedia, and organizing it as clearly as I can.

  • How is the continuum the underlying structure of all conceptual form?
  • How is the continuum "cut" by human distinctions?
  • And of course -- how are concepts formed from these distinctions?

Is it reasonable and not misleading to describe the continuum as a Tabula Rasa -- a clean slate -- unmarked -- on which, or from which all symbolic structure is desired?

This project presumes the continuum as the undifferentiated substrate of all conceptual form, which is constructed within the continuum as a process of "drawing distinctions".
